Where Thunderman works

Serving Greater Melbourne — and well beyond.

One trusted local team across Greater Melbourne — from the inner city right across the metro suburbs, and into surrounding regional Victoria for larger jobs. Find your suburb below, or just call.

Thunderman is owner-operated by Yiannis Knodarites, a licensed Registered Electrical Contractor (REC 28523) working right across Greater Melbourne. The day-to-day heartland is the northern and inner-north corridor — Craigieburn out to Reservoir, Preston, Coburg and Brunswick — but the van travels the whole metro area, and further into regional Victoria for larger jobs and commercial work.

Whatever the suburb, it’s the same licensed electrician who quotes the job, does the work, and comes back if anything needs a second look. No call centre, no rotating subbies, no franchise markup. That covers the lot: home electrical, air conditioning (ARCtick certified), solar and battery, commercial fit-outs, and emergency call-outs.

Each suburb below has its own page with the local detail that actually matters — the housing stock and its wiring quirks, the council and compliance angle, and the jobs that come up most in that pocket of Melbourne. Find yours, or just call for a free quote on 0434 254 474.

How Melbourne's north actually splits up

Three corridors, three different jobs

The northern growth corridor

Craigieburn, Epping, Mill Park, South Morang, Greenvale, Thomastown. Estates built from the 1990s onward, and still going up. The wiring is modern, so the work skews toward what people add after they move in: an EV charger on its own circuit, ducted air conditioning a builder left out, a battery bolted onto a hybrid-ready inverter. Newer boards usually have spare positions — until three big loads arrive at once.

The inner-north ring

Reservoir, Preston, Coburg, Brunswick, Northcote, Thornbury, Carlton, Richmond. Victorian terraces, interwar bungalows and the odd warehouse conversion. Here the switchboard is the story: ceramic fuses with no safety switch, cotton-braided wiring in a roof space, an addition wired off a circuit that was never sized for it. Most jobs start as home electrical and turn into a switchboard conversation.

North-west and the industrial belt

Sunbury, Essendon, Pascoe Vale, and the Cooper Street and Campbellfield factory corridor. Two very different worlds sharing a postcode range: 1930s bungalows mid-renovation on one street, three-phase distribution boards and machine commissioning on the next. Yiannis holds both the electrical licence and the ARCtick certification, so a commercial fit-out or an industrial project doesn't need three trades pointing at each other.

Outside these corridors, Thunderman still quotes across Greater Melbourne — the south, the east and the bayside included. Suburbs without a page below aren’t suburbs without service; they’re simply ones we haven’t written up yet. Managing a portfolio of properties across several of them? That has its own page.
